Description
Ombo Rest Camp is situated approximately 12 km north of Okahandja on the Hochfeld Road. This unique environment is home to a variety of animal and bird species, and they can all be viewed at our waterhole accompanied by a beautiful sunset. Ombo Rest Camp provides the ideal midway stopover, whilst allowing our guests to experience a relaxing and peaceful stay, and for families, a child-friendly environment.
Accommodation is offered in 2 family bungalows, a 2-bed bungalow, and a double bed bungalow. In addition, there are 3 backpacker rooms that each contain 2 single beds. The backpacker rooms share the ablutions with the campsite that offers washbasins and hot showers, and can make use of the campsite braai area.
Overnight guests are more than welcome to cool off in the swimming pool.
The on-site Ombo Restaurant offers an a la carte menu with meat dishes, vegetarian dishes, various salads, seafood and for the Namibian taste, ostrich meat and eggs. The restaurant also offers crocodile meat, Omajovas and freshly baked caked every day.
Ombo Rest Camp’s farm stall provides braai packs, firewood, ice and soft drinks, and homemade products like biltong, droëwors, smoked meat, honey, jams and a variety of juices. There is also a souvenir shop where you can purchase a reminder of our beautiful country.
An Ostrich and Crocodile Tour is offered daily, during which you will be able to touch and feed the ostriches. Wild animals can be viewed directly from all the bungalow's and restaurant onto the waterhole.
