Located in the beautiful Little Karoo, conveniently close to both the Garden Route and Route 62, we offer a unique base from which to enjoy the beauty of this region.

Shades of Africa is a Boutique Olive Estate, situated in the heart of heritage Oudtshoorn, amongst shady orchards of olives, pomegranates and flat top acacias. Centred around one of the last remaining Ostrich Baron Tower Houses in Oudtshoorn, the 3 beautifully restored historic sandstone buildings are separated from each other by private Victorian style gardens.

The Manor house offers 2 luxury air-conditioned twin or king en-suite rooms with a private inter-leading lounges. Each suite is equipped with Satellite TV and Wi-Fi and has access to a private gym and 18 m lap pool.

The Carriage House offers 2 twin or king en-suite rooms sharing an open-plan kitchen, dining room and lounge which is perfect for small groups or families. It has its own fenced 16 m swimming pool and gardens that are secure and safe for small children.

The spirit of our home and family filters through into how we run our Guesthouse and as well travelled individuals we understand the importance of personal attention yet privacy and space to relax.

Centrally located in Oudtshoorn's historical centre, the suburb is peaceful, safe and clean. Five review rated restaurants offering a diversity of local and international cuisine as well as a number of pubs and wine bars are located within a short half-kilometer walk.

Shades of Africa offers an airport shuttle and taxis and a car hire services are available. There are many tour operators providing easy access to safe mountain biking and hiking routes for all levels of enthusiast, fly-fishing, malaria free birding and animal safaris, ostrich farms, the Kango Caves are just some of the local attractions.
