Description

Thaba Lapeng Mountain Escape is centrally located in the eastern Free State, just 10 kilometers outside Clarens. We offer comfortable, self-catering accommodation with panoramic views of the surrounding mountain ranges around Clarens and the area.

Accommodation is provided in 3 open-plan chalets with self-catering facilities next to the main house, as well as 2 rooms in the main house offering basic accommodation. These 2 rooms are part of the main house but have their private entrances on the veranda.

Each self-catering chalet has an open-plan layout with a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, lounge, and bedroom. There is also an en-suite bathroom with a bath, washbasin, shower, and toilet. Each chalet has its own built-in braai (barbecue) facilities on its veranda. Linen and towels are provided. Cleaning services are available on request for a nominal fee, excluding Sundays and public holidays.

The 2 rooms are equipped with a microwave oven and a coffee station with coffee, tea, biscuits, milk, and sugar, replenished daily. The Suikerbekkie room also has a fridge. Linen and towels are provided. Each room has an en-suite bathroom with a shower, washbasin, and toilet. The rooms are not equipped for self-catering and do not have dedicated braai facilities. However, cutlery and crockery are provided and exchanged daily.

All the chalets and rooms have heaters and electric blankets for cold winter nights. Ideal for those preparing for endurance races due to its altitude and challenging terrain. Guests can enjoy swimming. free Wi-Fi, and a generator during power outages. There are also walking trails on the farm and an adjacent wildlife farm.
